Graduated from the study programme English language and literature – humanities at Faculty of Education at Charles University in Prague, where she also passed the state rigorosum examination (post-master’s examination) on English methodology. She is engaged in various pedagogical activities. Her teaching practice included working in language schools, teaching in-company, individual, public and post-secondary courses. She also taught at college and several years at comprehensive grammar schools. Her speciality was general English, preparation for international exams and social sciences. Currently she works for the English Department of Faculty of Education and the Institute for Language and Preparatory Studies of Charles University. She is an alumni of International Visitor Leadership program (IVLP), on topic Education in Digital Age. At the moment, she is a PhD student at the Faculty of Psychology of Charles University and her research is focused on psychodidactics and the development of metacognitive skills of students.
In addition to her teaching practice, she gives certified seminars (by Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports) and lectures for teachers in foreign language methodology in cooperation with Faculty of Education and FRAUS publishing. She is also the author of a handbook for teachers published by Charles University, Leximapping – How to Teach English and Other Foreign Languages via mind maps (2015). The publication introduces various uses of mind maps in foreign language teaching, but mainly an innovative technique for teaching lexis.
He’s studing at grammar school Nad Štolou, he has been interested in maths and informatics. He was entertained by computers since his childhood, he learned how to program in C# at primary school and as time went on also in PHP, Java and a bit in C++. He has been developing the core of the Leximapping app and he continues to develop it.
